8th November 2003 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 30 knots Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 8ºC Sea Temperature: 12ºC Weather: Cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: As promised I was on the beach by 7am and on the water not long after that. Shem came down to have a look but decided that it ws too windy for kiting so went off again. I rigged my 4.5m sail but had to rig it on a 430 mast. It wasn't too bad like that I guess as only about 15cm of mast was sticking out the top. I was maxed out to start with, but after a few adjustments everything was fine and I was flying along making some nice chop hops and gybes. After about an hour the wind dropped though and I sunk, so it was back to the van to hone Shem and let him know it was now OK for kiting. I packed up and Shem went out, but typically it seemed to pick up again and I think it was getting too much for him as I left the beach. 4 Stars while the wind was blowing, but it didn't last long enough so only 3-stars. |
